Day 1: Arrival into Oahu
Aloha and welcome to Hawaii! Upon arrival at the Honolulu International Airport, you will be met with traditional flower lei, assisted through baggage claim and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to explore this fascinating city within a city, Waikiki.
Day 2: Arizona Memorial, City & Punch Bowl Tour
This unforgettable tour begins with a visit to the Arizona Memorial commemorating the victims of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7th, 1941. The visitor exhibits provide historic details about the attack and memorialize the hundreds of American servicemen entombed in the sunken battleship underneath the site.
Next you’ll visit Punchbowl National Cemetery, final resting place for those who died in service of their country. The final stage of this journey is a narrated tour of downtown Honolulu. You’ll see the impressive state buildings and churches. You’ll also see Iolani Palace, the only Royal Palace on American soil, as well as a majestic statue of King Kamehameha, the great Hawaiian warrior-king who united the Islands.
Day 3: Polynesian Cultural Center – Luau Package
Today board your central Waikiki shuttle to the Polynesian Cultural Center. The images, history and hospitality of seven Pacific cultures come alive at the 42-acre Polynesian Cultural Center. See islanders re-enact war dances and wedding ceremonies, rub sticks to create fire, carve tiki figures, wield fire knives and climb four-story trees in bare feet. Hear them present the intriguing details of tribal tattooing, ancient transoceanic history without a written language. Meet the people and experience the cultures.
Enjoy the canoe pageant, IMAX presentations, tram tour of Laie, and canoe rides. Witness the traditional ritual of removing a well-roasted pig from the fire pit known as an “imu”. A delight is the traditional feast fit for a King. Finally, take pleasure in the spectacular “Horizons” night show with a cast of over 100 performers. Dressed in native attire, Polynesians share their histories, traditions and spirit in the same way their ancestors did. The spectacle’s fire knife champions and fire walkers add dramatic accents to an unforgettable evening. (D)
