Description

Tamanu Beach is a superior boutique resort located in Amuri Village which is on the western coast of the island 5-minutes from the airport and 10-minutes to Arutanga township. The Resort is privately nestled amongst tropical gardens and gently swaying palm trees, with a mountain view backdrop and stunning views of the lagoon and beyond. Proudly family owned and operated offering guests a blend of culture, tradition, and friendly local hospitality.

Relax by the pool and enjoy a cocktail, explore the lagoon through snorkelling or kayaking. The beach here is one of the best on the island. Tamanu Beach Restaurant was opened in 2008 and has been operating since. It is situated on the beachfront, only a few metres from the lagoon. The Restaurant was built using local Tamanu (Mahogany) timber, that resembles a traditional ‘Are’ style building and can seat up to a maximum of 80 people.

Accommodation

The Resort consists of 23 stylish bungalows and villas, each boasting Polynesian inspired décor and modern amenities. There are five Room types to choose from, they all range from the comfortable Garden Bungalows to the private One Bedroom Bungalows and Tamanu Beachfront Villa.

All rooms feature high ceilings for good airflow, ceiling fans and air-conditioning, premium bedding along with the necessities including tea & coffee making facilities, private bathrooms and an open deck with outdoor furniture to relax on and enjoy the view.

The One Bedroom Bungalows are standalone spacious rooms that enjoy beautiful views of the lagoon and sunsets from their decks. They are set on the main entrance side of the property called Manea, and are the best option for adult families.

The Garden, Lagoon view and Beachfront Bungalows as well as the Tamanu Beachfront Villa are also stand alone and are set on the adjacent property called Purotu, offering lovely garden and beachfront views. The bungalows feature a studio layout and are the perfect option for couples.
